hosting capacity

"Hosting capacity is defined as the amount of DER that can be accommodated without adversely impacting power quality or reliability under existing control configurations and without requiring infrastructure upgrades." EPRI

In the map (right), triangles represent locations where Con Edison anticipates it can accept solar DG output with little to no additional cost to the project. The larger the triangle, the higher the likelihood there will be no or little additional cost to interconnect in that area. The Company has initially focused on developing maps for its low-voltage network areas and will include non-network areas in the future.
